L.A.S. Vino CDDB Chenin Blanc Dynamic Blend 2020

Share

What exactly is a dynamic blend? It seems for Nic peterkin it’s a combination of the biodynamically grown fruit (from one of the few BD vineyards in Margaret River) with something that is full of energy and a force for change. This wine in particular has been a part of the growing conversation around quality chenin blanc in this country and our local style.

This is a fine and youthful example of the variety with a distinct vibrancy and energy to the fruit. Pale in colour it shows both the fruity (apple and citrus) plus savoury (lanolin and beeswax) aromas seen in the best examples of this variety. A crisp, almost tart, line of acidity is then its defining feature driving a linear and floral palate although there is mid palate richness too with subtle oak just coming through right on the finish. A great food wine, no doubt perfect with some local Margaret River Marron. Decant for an hour or two for optimal drinking.
