Thompson Estate The Specialist Cabernet Sauvignon 2022

A stellar Margaret River Cabernet. 3,075 bottles. Dark cherry red with a maroon rim. The immediate impression here is of a wine with some serious concentration to it, in a most powerful style. There are notes of soy, violets, chocolate, graphite, cloves, blackberries, coffee beans and dried herbs. The structure is impressive. The wine is seamless, with succulent acidity, fine balance, satiny tannins and very good length. Mulberries are to the fore on the palate. This is a fine example of Margaret River Cabernet, revealing early complexity, which will provide immense pleasure, now and over the next ten to fifteen years.
