Henschke Louis Eden Valley Sémillon 2023

Share

Barossa Sémillon was once a thing, a big thing! Over the years, vines have been replaced by trendier varieties but not all, and certainly not at Henschke where 50+ year old Sémillon vines are celebrated (as they should be). They bring some added panache and depth, not to mention subtle, attractive florals and rich veins of citrus fruits. This is no cruisy lightweight but a wine of substance. Fragrant in green apple, citrus, honeysuckle and spring flowers, it hosts an equally vibrant palate hosted by citrus in its many forms: Meyer lemon, lemon zest, key lime pie and grapefruit pith. It is accompanied by a lovely, enticing, bright freshness of acidity.
