3 drops Chardonnay 2019

This is a good example of why it is a mistake to tar all regions with the same vintage brush. The reason being that while 2019 might have been quite challenging in other regions it resulted in some excellent wines in the Great Southern. In fact, this turned out to be an excellent vintage for chardonnay in the Great Southern. It was cooler but the ripening period allowed the flavours to generate excellent intensity and character. Deep and concentrated melony grapefruit with a roasted cashew, vanilla bean, and nectarine stone fruit swirling through the middle palate. A little minerality helps it hold the line. Balanced and poised, which is what you would expect from a winemaker like Rob Diletti.
