Structure and elegant framework is key here – Serralunga is well known for producing dense, ageworthy wines and this is a shining example. Bold and powerful; game, dark tar and iron yet still boasting a sense of prettiness. There is plenty of rustic, earthy fragrance and the inkling of perfumed fruits just starting to unfurl. A wine that definitely needs time in the bottle, but will grant the most patient of drinkers plenty of joy when the time comes. When it does, spoil yourself and make Risotto al Barolo or braised rabbit pasta.
