Bobar Yarra Valley Pinot Noir 2022

Share

A blend of 85% Pinot Noir and 15% Syrah. A poised nose, with aromas of wild strawberries, black cherries, rhubarb, red plums, vanilla pods, banana coated in milk chocolate (there is some carbonic maceration there). Then fresh thyme, an accent of lavender and petrichor. I’m dreaming about the land in the Yarra Valley now and wondering if it smells like this after a spring rain. The freshness on the palate is like a tonic, and spritzy alike. The tannins are delicate, but they are there. The palate seems elusive, and appears as it would not have the same focus and definition of fruits of the nose, but I can see the flavours of red plums, black cherries and others coming to me once the wine has left my palate.
