Byron & Harold Gravity Cabernet Sauvignon Margaret River 2021

A wine which surely has everything going for it – one of the world’s great wine regions, a superb vintage and the grape acknowledged as King in this part of the world. What else do you need? This is perhaps not a wine for those looking for immediate gratification but rather, if you have the patience to hold on to this for a year or two, you can expect some cracking bottles over the next decade.

Dark maroon in colour, this is fresh and bright with delightful aromas of raspberries, florals, cherries and some chocolate with hints of aniseed, tobacco leaves and cloves. Good intensity throughout, it is certainly still coming together, but is going to reward when it does. Well structured, there are soft and silky, if slightly dusty, tannins on the long finish, which lingers nicely. The palate sees more florals, plums, blackberries and mulberries with a hint of sour cherries right on the finish. It will easily give a decade’s pleasure and no doubt the score will rise in the coming years.
