The Coonawarra siding is the region’s go-to visitor’s image, the old-school railway platform that was a vital transport hub and became the insta-location of our era. This wine, named in tribute, also puts us right in the middle of the Coonawarra in a vinous sense, cabernet with classic floral and herbal introductions, black fruit and berry crush, followed by fruit pastille flavours backgrounded by subtle cedary oak. Importantly, the tannins are softer than all those elements might usually build up to, which makes this a sure-footed and very drinkable style without shortchanging any of the key varietal/regional points of interest.
