Kilikanoon Wines Killerman’s Run Riesling 2021

To age or not to age, that is the question with Clare Valley riesling. With Killerman’s Run 2021 Riesling, the answer is quite straightforward: drink it now. There may be some benefit in putting it in the cellar, under the bed, but then you would be missing out on all of that delightful, fresh, immediate drinkability.

It’s fairly humming in citrus, honeysuckle, grapefruit, orange peel, lime cordial aromas. And, yes, that many descriptors indicates a pretty complex offering to the senses. There’s a lovely depth of zingy, zesty flavour, the kind the Clare Valley does so well, which is in part from the zippy acidity, in part from the citrus brightness of fruit. And it’s got length. All of that for $22 spells bargain in my book.
