It’s impossible not to drink this wine and get hungry as it conjures up so many aromatics of delicious things. Baked apple danish with custard, lemon curd tart and vanilla bean ice-cream, glace pineapple and toasted almonds to name a few. The one third Burgundian oak makes its introduction with a firm handshake. This is bold as brass Chardonnay, and that sweet vanilla bean lingers for a decent amount of time. For the millions of bold, toasty Chardonnay fans out there, this should be on your radar.
Shanteh cut her teeth at Sydney’s Award-Winning Quay restaurant where she worked for over a decade and was Head Sommelier from 2018 till 2022. She has been nominated for the Good Food Guide Sommelier of the Year award on three occasions and claims that her experience as a Len Evans scholar as one of the highlights of her career.
