Not shy, this top tier Margaret River Shiraz generates plenty of richness and ripeness and more than a little earthy savouriness. Built around a robust tannin structure, the scene is set for a wealth of flavour generosity in cedary oak, black cherry, plum, earth, sweet blackcurrant pastille jubey notes, licorice and chocolate. Hard to believe it could squeeze any more in, but an undercurrent of mushroom, undergrowth and earth adds weight and dark savoury flavour intrigue. Quite a singular tasting experience and, it must be noted, stands apart from the usual Margaret River Shiraz. Big in personality and presence.

She was named Wine Communicator of the Year and Legend of the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival in 2014 and in 2018 Legend of the Vine. She is a founding board member of Australian Women In Wine and is the co-deputy chair of Australia’s Wine List of the Year Awards and China’s Wine List of the Year Awards.
