Capital Wines The Ambassador Tempranillo 2021

What a delicious young red. Approachability early on is a challenge, yet this wine is a triumph. Beautifully perfumed with ripe blueberry and subtle spice box notes. It is softly textured, medium bodied, plush and lively. Lightly oaked — just enough to add interest — it facilitates a lick of vanilla aroma and extra drive to the black cherry flavour on the palate. Its juicy acidity creates a more-ish, easy drinking experience. This wine was the perfect companion to my Teriyaki Chicken, counterbalancing the saltiness with its mouth-watering personality and mulberry definition. The crushed walnuts on top of the dish enhanced the vibrancy of flavour in the wine. It is also a great proposition without food.
