Chard Farm Mason Vineyard Pinot Noir 2022

Another Pinot from the Parkburn Valley sub-region of Central Otago, Mason is dominated by the famous Abel clone. A deep crimson hue here with a red rim, there are aromas of dried herbs, truffles, soy, miso and raspberries. A whiff of aniseed. The wine has soft, silky tannins, fine balance, a good line of acidity and very good length. Eight to ten years here. Fascinating to see how the DNA from each vineyard is reflected year after year. A credit to the winemaking team.
