A blend of Pinot Gris, Riesling and Gewürztraminer from the Eden Valley, the combination of grapes offers plenty of complexity on the nose and palate: lemon, kiwi, pear, cold tea, nuttiness, biscuit and a tanginess like sharp cheese. The mouthfeel is silky and slippery, with the fruit showing plenty of brightness and saltiness, aided by some searing acidity and phenolic richness, making it unlike your typical white blend, which is precisely what winemaker Jeremy Evans was aiming for. I consumed it with food (a succulent roast chook), which heightened the tasting experience.
