Ironcloud Wines Rock of Solitude Cabernet Malbec 2019

Serious drinkability is the key to this wine. Sometimes wines from the west can be a bit lacking in this department. Not taking away from them at all, but the Indian Ocean influence can add a little delicacy so it is often best to head over the Nullarbor to South Australia when searching for a big fleshy red, but hold the phone…..

Deeply coloured, this wine has stacks of flavour thanks to the addition of malbec to the blend, which adds some serious impact. Fleshy blackcurrant, violet and inky fruits with subtle oak then lead to a dry, fleshy and juicy palate that is generous and mouthfilling. Tannins are supple and there is also a leafy edge which beautifully offsets that core of dense, dark fruit. A delicious wine to quench a big red thirst.
