Château Tanunda 50 Year Old Vines Barossa Shiraz 2022

Share

Has that authentic stamp of classic style Barossa Shiraz: power, volume, warm, round and flowing. The ripeness of the fruit definitely takes a starring role in league with high-ish alcohol (14.9%) and without too much persuasion drags the drinker in. Black fruits to the fore with cassis, dark plum, sage, blackstrap liquorice, allspice, woodsmoke. The palate is soft, long and round, really smooth with firm tannins in support. The palate is dense and supple, chock full of fruit, spice, earth and chocolate notes and a tantalising savouriness of smoked meats, a feature that sits to the back offering another layer of interest. May not be big on finesse but delivers in personality.
