Craggy Range Te Muna Road Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2020

This is New Zealand sauvignon blanc but not as you know it with a distinctly elegant style. With a quick sniff you could almost be in the Loire Valley with its reserved but exotic guava, green apple and freshly cut grass fruits. Subtle oak sits in the background which add some savouriness and a more creamy texture. The palate is then punchy with real impact – powerful fruit is well matched to tangy but balanced acidity thanks to the slightly warmer Martinborough climate. It is then wrapped up with a long herbal finish. This is a serious sauvignon blanc for sure that deserves a whole roasted river salmon topped with dill mayonnaise.
