Devil’s Corner Mt Dove Pinot Syrah 2020

Share

With 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Syrah (Shiraz), this quirky blend is starting to show up more often; balancing the fragrant red berries of Pinot with the intoxicating spice of cool climate Shiraz. The result is aromas of intensely floral crystallised rose petals and violets, ripe raspberries (so ripe they are almost bursting) and magenta cherries, with lashings of white pepper spice.

On the palate it’s medium bodied with fine tannins, juicy fruits of the forest and a burst of fresh peppercorn berries – savoury and spicy. It almost gives the impression of entering the palate as Pinot but finishing with Shiraz. Suspend any expectations and pair it with, well, anything you like really, from spicy tapas to chargrilled meats.
