Boasts nice poise and a budding complexity in its youth. Still coming together, very much in building mode, but Margaret River hallmarks are well in place with aromas ripe in melon, nectarine, white peach and citrus – super bright and breezy – with underlying almond mealy oak. A nicely worked flinty complexity is taking shape on the palate with a depth of concentrated peach, stone fruit and citrus flavour, toasted nuts and warm cedary oak. Fine-etched, sherbety fresh acidity sits a little separate, but it’s still very much early days. Nine months maturation in French oak (40% new) sets the scene well for a very bright future ahead.

Over the years she has written for most Australian wine magazines and these days calls WinePilot home. She is also a Tasting Panel member on the Halliday Wine Companion. She was named Wine Communicator of the Year and Legend of the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival in 2014 and in 2018 Legend of the Vine. She is a founding board member of Australian Women In Wine and is the co-deputy chair of Australia’s Wine List of the Year Awards and China’s Wine List of the Year Awards.
