Devil’s Corner Mt Baudin Chardonnay 2022

Share

Mt Baudin Chardonnay is part of the Hazards range, named for mountain range on the east coast of Tasmania. This fruit comes from the well-regarded Kayena vineyard. The wine has aromas of grapefruit, fig leaf and rock salt minerality. Still very youthful and tightly coiled, barrel fermentation with 37% new oak presents as subtle vanilla blossom and a hint of baking spices. Pure elegance that then surprises you with power on the palate. There are layers of flavour; basketfuls of ripe citrus tangoing with tangy stonefruit. Creamy cashew nut ascends into a crunchy green Thai mango tang. Fascinating complexity with beautifully precise, well-integrated acidity that leaves your mouth watering for another sip.
