Blackberries, prune plums and juniper. Licorice root, anise and black peppercorn. An alluring perfume that teeters between sweet black fruit and high toned florals and herbs. The oak handling feels paired back here and the intoxicating aromas of the grape are unsullied by the sweetness of oak char. This leaves you with a Petit Verdot of finesse and appeal. Tannins are dry and mighty with acidity that slowly builds. This would benefit from a swift decant to show off those sexy aromatics and serve with fatty and sweet meat. I suggest Chinese char siu pork and green scallion eggy rice.
