Duplessis-Duval ‘Muscadet Sevre et Maine’ Melon de Bourgogne 2019

Share

This is by far the most delicious Melon de Bourgogne I have had the pleasure of enjoying. Aromatically gifted — which is not always the case in this category — it is really expressive with a bouquet of ripe lemon, Williams pear and white acacia flower. The palate has great linear drive, the acidity carries through nicely with succulent fruit power, finishing with deep white nectarine fleshiness. Quite the back palate as a result, setting this wine apart from many Muscadet which often lack intensity. It is the perfect companion to my oven-baked buttered Barramundi encrusted with a macadamia topping, deftly cleansing the oiliness and refreshing my palate nicely. The side salad with fennel, mustard, rocket and  green apple further elevated the zestiness and crunchiness of this sensorial experience.
