Eldridge Pinot Noir 2024

Share

From one of the oldest sites in the region, this is a mix of Bungrundy clones utilising destemming or whole bunch where Steve Flamsteed and Grace Jiranek see fit. Wild yeast and 20% new oak is used. A well of blackberries, wild strawberries and Christmas cherries. Oak spice models the fruit with nutmeg, cinnamon and dried orange zest, invoking holiday season and social cheer. There is a backdrop of juicy blue plums, providing ample meat and muscle. Tannins are super fine but alive and kicking, showing once again how Mornington Peninsula provides structure and finesse. You are in for a wine that could easily please most red wine drinkers here, served up in a balloon glass with some lamb ribs and rosemary and you’ll be a very happy camper. Drink now or pop away in the cool of your cellar for another 3-4 years.
