Aching beautiful, the wines of Flametree, often fly under the radar in quality and dare I say it, price. This is no different with swoon worthy aromas of Star Jasmine, Freesia and Frangipani blooms set against the plump flesh of white nectarine, mangosteen and poached apples. The palate twists and turns as it reveals its many chiseled facets. First a phenolic grip, then a slew of naturally gracefully acidity. A caress of cinnamon oak and maple. There is some artful consideration for shape and texture, ensuring this will continue to envelop you in ecstasy and satisfaction. A wine worth your time, a place in your cellar and a VIP seat at the table. Stunning.
Shanteh cut her teeth at Sydney’s Award-Winning Quay restaurant where she worked for over a decade and was Head Sommelier from 2018 till 2022. She has been nominated for the Good Food Guide Sommelier of the Year award on three occasions and claims that her experience as a Len Evans scholar as one of the highlights of her career. Shanteh hosts her own weekly podcast ‘Over A Glass’ with the Deep in the Weeds Network and spends her time writing for various publications and judging at numerous wine shows across the country.
