Gilberts Riesling 2025

Share

Fruit is from the first block of vines planted in 1985. This is filled with familiar apple strudel, white flowers and honeysuckle. Picked lemons, Lily Pily fruit and nashi pear, acidity creeps up carrying tree fruit flavours with it and the wine finishes bone dry with some talc powder texture. This can be framed as classic style of Aussie riesling but flavour is generous and enveloping. It is a good time in glass and would set a tray of seared scallops in the half shell on fire. Drink now or this will cellar well over the next 8-12 years.
