Champagne La Closerie Les Beguines NV (b.17)

Share

If you want to taste the intriguing nature of a single vineyard, single vintage Pinot Meunier Champagne, Prevost nails it in Les Beguines. Note there is also the slightest amount of Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc and Chardonnay.  This is base vintage 2017.

This 2017 is pulpy already. There is waxy citrus oil with a lot of raciness, mouth-watering acid that puckers the mouth, thirsty yet for another sip, in search for another piece of the puzzle. It’s like watching a David Lynch movie. Provoking… Perplexing. The taste keeps evolving in subtle nuances. Becoming moreish as it gains in temperature, it remains fervent in its youthfulness. A wine that needs time, but one that also tempts you saying how life is too short to wait.
