Gralyn Estate Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

Share

Grayln Estate is a winery seldom seen outside of its home in the Margaret River and was actually the first in the region to open a cellar door back in 1978. They have always been quite traditional styles – hearty, structural reds built for long aging – although the new generation of Annette and Scot Baxter are having an impact with recent releases.

Despite 8 years of age this wine still shows good colour and bright blackcurrant and mulberry fruits with cedary oak, and some mushroom aged complexity. It’s then quite savoury with generous, jammy black olive fruits before a lingering finish with grainy tannins. A good example of aged Margaret River Cabernet best enjoyed over the next couple of years.
