My first tasting note on this wine: “Whoa, there’s a bit happening here.” It’s no lie.
Smoky bacon, game, leather against a background of black cherries and red fruits, aromatics and high spice threaded throughout. It’s also a tale of two halves as savouriness gives way to signature shiraz chocolate and licorice on the palate. Oak isn’t shy, but it’s mighty good and in balance. Supple tannins complete the picture of a cool climate Shiraz with a touch of savoury attitude.
As I said at the start, “There’s a bit happening here.”
