Greenock Estate’s roots go back to a 1948 planted vineyard in Barossa Valley’s western districts, its desire geared to create a mega Shiraz heading into the 15.5% abv territory, big-gunned yet smooth, the marriage of dark fruit and cedary oak its main game. All this happens with a certain ease here, extraction producing enough whispering bitters to temper an inherent fruit sweetness which in the finish breathes a little mint chocolate as well. A pleasing capture of full-bodied, top-shelf styled Barossa Shiraz.
