Hahndorf Hill GRU Gruner Veltliner 2018

Hahndorf Hill is one on the pioneers and leading producers of Gruner Veltliner in the country, from their Adelaide Hills vineyards in Hahndorf. Thankfully they were missed by the bushfires in December 2019.

This is a cracking Gruner, which shows the combination of pretty tropical aromas and slightly creamy texture seen in this variety’s best from Austria. It is pale golden in colour with subtle earthy pear fruits and a touch of white flowers. On the palate it is surprisingly powerful with generous musky fruit and crisp acidity. Delicious and a nice change for Riesling fans.
