Hentley Farm MC Riesling 2021

Share

The first of three new wines from the Mount Crawford vineyard, set high in the cool hills at the southern end of the Barossa Valley. The riesling is all power & intensity on the nose, with layered notes of spice, pretty florals & lime zest. It’s more savoury than the Eden Valley riesling and the palate is racy, dry and linear, and super lean. There are some lovely lemon curd-like flavours and a chalkiness on the finish. The MC riesling is fermented predominantly in seasoned oak which doesn’t add any oak flavour but will make it a sure bet for laying down for a while: I can’t wait to see it in ten years.

The MC riesling would be perfect with freshly shucked oysters and a sizeable bump of caviar on your hand.
