Hewitson Old Garden Mourvèdre 2018

Share

The vineyard that provides this fruit was planted in 1853 and is renowned as including the oldest Mourvèdre vines on the planet. Medium garnet/ruby colour, that with a swirl, sends fast moving legs down the glass. The nose is leafy and earthy yet pure. Layered aromas of pink chalk and salt minerality/base tones with red currant, red plum and mixed peel fruits, all lifted with quality blonde oak. Deeply flavoured, with an expressive red fruit palate, emboldened by oak but showing class and elegance with gentle, persistent tannin.
