Hewitson The Ancients Shiraz 2019

In the old days, winemakers would supply cuttings to growers, who would then care for the plants and supply the makers with the fruit from these cuttings. This ancient tradition then led to vineyards with a whole smorgasbord of different clonal material.

This Ancients Shiraz is a homage to that old method. Hailing from a single vineyard above Rowland Flat, it’s flush with dark berry, very ripe fruit, in a concentrated, chunky style has all the Barossan hallmarks. You’re not going to die wondering about this impactful red, with its Barossan heritage written in big letters all over the wine.
