Hewitson The Ancients Shiraz, Barossa Valley 2019

Share

Concentrated and ripe dark plums dominate this wine that is dense and intense. A mouth-filling and voluptuous wine that tightens on the back palate with freshness and tannic grip. Some stalky notes add freshness giving way to intense Ribena and sweet plum compote. Tannins are serious, chalky and drying adding weight to this hefty style. A savoury dried mushroom finish adds a nice contrast to the mid palate fruit. Finish is long and intense.
