10% whole bunch and matured for 10 months in 20% new oak. A wine of sophistication, svelte lines, there is a reason why Tassie Shiraz is so provocative right now. Full of perfume and presence, there are an array of garden herbs and cool climate spice lines. Black raspberries underpinned with Mediterranean caperberry and dill. This is a wine that is plush and velvety with fine tannins and slinky nature across the palate. A wild intensity of plum skin and mulberry with caraway seed spice to finish. New oak is nipped and tucked neatly to cradle the whole package. There is so much enjoyment here. A stunning vintage for Shiraz. Serve this with homemade lasagna.
Shanteh cut her teeth at Sydney’s Award-Winning Quay restaurant where she worked for over a decade and was Head Sommelier from 2018 till 2022. She has been nominated for the Good Food Guide Sommelier of the Year award on three occasions and claims that her experience as a Len Evans scholar as one of the highlights of her career. Shanteh hosts her own weekly podcast ‘Over A Glass’ with the Deep in the Weeds Network and spends her time writing for various publications and judging at numerous wine shows across the country.
