Jansz Late Disgorged Vintage Cuvée 2013

Share

In the best years Jansz hold back a small amount of stock for additional ageing on lees, the 2013 having spent over seven years gaining complexity, as is seen in some of the finest vintage Champagnes. For fans of the style this must be one of the top value LDs from anywhere around the world and this vintage is surely one of the best yet from Jansz. What really marks the 2013 is a brilliant mix of power, complexity and, in particular, subtlety which all come together beautifully. Pale golden in colour, it opens up with a delicious array of aromas – almond cream, apple tartin, florals and lightly buttered toast. Despite its age, the palate is then vibrant and relatively youthful with crisp acidity underpinning waves of delicate mushroomy flavour which fan out over a very long and reserved finish. A stunning wine that still has some years ahead of it.
