Knappstein The Insider Riesling 2025

Share

An exciting Clare Valley design which pushes Riesling style boundaries out from regular austere dryness to a just noticeable fruit tingle where the citrus flavours move from green and yellow juices to a delicate mandarin while retaining a mouthwatering vibe of lemon gelato. Worth noting there’s a residual sugar count here of 6.6g/litre, which tells of the intent and enjoyment behind this wine. Sourced from several fruit parcels across estate vineyards from Watervale to the Clare district itself, and three different approaches in the winery, from classic stainless steel and halted ferment to retain fruit sugars, as well as another portion fermented in barrel for some palate depth, and another with some skin contact to add perhaps a delicate spice. The detailing is superb, the weave and flavour notes delicious and moreish. A great success.
