Knappstein The Insider Shiraz Malbec 2022

The Shiraz-Malbec blend is one of Clare Valley’s notable red wine signatures, here from the northern end of the region, steered through ferment with 35% whole bunches to promote its lifted floral and spice notes. The key to the wine is its Malbec component which adds a distinctive fragrance to the nose, part thyme, part coconut biscuit, a weave of savoury senses and black fruits while still drinking with medium weight ease, the aromatics remaining all the way through the palate. Quite spritely, there’s a positive energy to this wine that is most encouraging.
