Kyneton Ridge Cabernet Shiraz 2022

Fruit is from Heathcote and Macedon Ranges. 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Shiraz. The wine is matures in French oak of which 20% was new for 9 months. Blackberries, tonka bean and caraway spice. Prune plums, cherry liqueur and coffee syrup. It’s almost an east meets west but here each varietal’s features compliments the other. Savoury Cabernet tannins are fuelled by juicy Shiraz fruit. There is clove and cumin and black pepper too. A full bodied drop but one of balance and drinkability. Drink now with a Italian Nonna’s meatball sub.
