The Lane Heritage Shiraz 2020

Share

2020 was not the easiest vintage for the Adelaide Hills overall but maybe not so for Shiraz Viognier blends if this wine is anything to go by. Bright deep ruby and it opens up with intriguing aromas of peppery spice and just-ripe blackberries, with touches of liquorice and new oak along for the ride, although sitting in the back seat, with Viognier just adding a subtle lift. It’s then quite firm yet poised with spicy fruit pastille flavours underpinned by chalky tannins that draw out a long and youthful finish. It’s a sharp wine that will age quite nicely over the medium term.
