St John’s Road Peace of Eden Riesling 2019

Share

It’s the purity of Eden Valley Riesling that makes it one of the country’s top regions for this grape variety; the elegance and restraint of fruit with its vibrant acidity which gives the local wines an edge, which this wine from St John’s Road beautifully displays.

It starts very shy and youthful with its lifted citrus pith, green apple and talcum powder floral fruits that show good concentration. The palate is then pure, dry and understated with a touch of minerality with fine, detailed and elegant fruit driven by crisp and well balanced acidity. The Eden Valley refinement is there too, making for a cracking drink now, although it also has the structure to age, but why bother when it is a great drink right now.
