Lane’s End Macedon Ranges Cabernet Franc 2024

Share

This is the first Cabernet Franc I’ve ever had from Macedon and I’m hoping it won’t be the last. The nose is deliciously perfumed and shows a complex mix of blueberry, sour cherry, earth, baking spices and mulberry, with some pyrazines adding some greenness but in a pleasant fashion. It’s inky and rich on the palate, with dusty tannins and loads of fruit sweetness and spice. I gave it a + as I think there’s some definite potential for it to improve in the bottle, given that it’s still a baby, but if drinking now, a decant and some rich and spicy food would be highly recommended.
