Lange Estate Providence Road Chardonnay 2019

You don’t see too much chardonnay in the Frankland River with shiraz and riesling the leading local stars. But don’t discount it as the cool dry climate is well suited to making elegant and concentrated chardonnay.

This is about as far from old-fashioned sunshine in the bottle Australian chardonnay as you’ll find with its subtle, savoury style. There are pretty aromas of citrus and pear fruits well balanced with spicy oak. This is followed by a crisp, acid driven and chalky palate with citrus flavours complimented by touches almond meal and stony minerality. It is an understated style of chardonnay so well suited to whitebait fritters.
