Leconfield Coonawarra Chardonnay 2024

This was an outstanding vintage in Coonawarra, and it’s produced an excellent wine from these vines that were planted in the 1980s. Slightly toasty stone fruit notes appear on the nose and then a palate which is both rich and textured, but with controlled restraint thanks to that fine acidity and tight-grained oak influence. It has a lemon curd, brioche-like character with a little zestiness to tighten. One of the best of these I’ve tasted.
