Parker Estate Kidman Block Shiraz 2021

Extraordinary colour! A deep, inky, magenta purple. It smells like fat wedges of blueberry pie: sweet vanilla-scented pastry and seductively syrupy fruit. There’s earthy black licorice and a floral lift of crystallised violets. In the mouth it is oh so silky and rich, hitting every single tastebud with that inky black and blue fruit. Supple tannins and refreshing acidity, with a hint of cooling menthol to round out the finish. From old vines planted in 1969 on that famous Terra Rossa soil, this wine is a great reminder to seek out more Coonawarra Shiraz.
