Longview Saturnus Nebbiolo 2020

Share

This wine from the famous Piedmont variety claims to be from the oldest Nebbiolo vines in Australia. For me, the striking feature is how well the tannins have been managed. Hard and assertive tannins are a common problem for Nebbiolo in Australia, yet these are perfectly integrated. Aromas of strawberry and raspberry with a little licorice and tar adding to the complexity before a beautifully balanced and sustained palate. Here is a wine that screams for some good Italian pasta or red meat dominant dishes.
