Longview Vineyard Macclesfield Chardonnay 2019

Share

Macclesfield is a pretty little town at the top of the Angas River in the Adelaide Hills. While this might be more shiraz country it certainly also does a great job with chardonnay. Pale gold in colour, it is quite generous and richly flavoured. There is a riot of nectarine and white peach fruits matched by a good dose of vanillin oak. It’d then full-bodied and creamy – but there is also a nice bite of acidity that keeps it all in focus. Some buttery influences on the finish add to that overall richness to make this one very satisfying chardonnay, especially if oak is your thing. Drink it up with lemon chicken.
