MMAD Vineyard Blewitt Springs Rosé 2024

A field blend of Grenache, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chenin Blanc, from the sandy soiled Blewitt Spring Vineyard first planted in 1939. There’s plenty going on here, opening with a savoury nose filled with cured meats, a bit of baked earth, cherry blossom, wood spice, wild strawberries, bacon fat, dried cranberries, crushed raspberry, apricot flesh and a flinty minerality. The palate follows through with sour cherry, Japanese dried plums – sweet/salty things happening, a quiver of spice, almond meal, and a lifted pulverised granite minerality. Refreshing yet powerful, and enough tannic grip and fruit weight that it can hold on to a meal with substantial flavour and flesh. Impressive length and drive, this mouth-filling Rosé is for those who take their Rosé seriously. It’s hard not to finish the glass. A winner.
