Monterra Fleurieu Shiraz 2020

Share

If big, dense shiraz is your thing then move along as this wine shows the more subtle side to this grape variety thanks to its cool Fleurieu origins. It’s only medium ruby as you’d expect with pretty, fragrant fruits. There is violets, earth, white pepper and some cranberry thrown in too – it is not hugely concentrated but that is all part of the bright and breezy style. This shiraz is then dry, mid weight and supple with juicy fruit and silky tannins plus a spicy lift to finish. Drink it up with your favourite sausage roll.
