Moss Wood Semillon 2020

Share

This remains one of my favourite wines in Margaret River, despite the plethora of great cabernet and chardonnays. Keith Mugford makes this in stainless steel so what you get is pure unadulterated semillon with the richness and intensity that says Margaret River. It’s always good to very good. In this year of intense ripe fruit, it is outstanding and a great example of what can be done with this grape as a standalone varietal. There is a lemony citrus tang and a crisp acidity. The power of the palate is extraordinary yet it delivers with such precision and fine elegance that is what this variety is all about. The purity and refreshing intensity and flavours are just so brilliant. Love it and it ages rather well too.
